Повтори правила и выполни три упражнения на Past Simple, Past Simple vs Past Continuous и used to.

1. Past Simple

Past Simple используется, когда мы говорим о завершённых действиях и событиях в прошлом.

Тип предложения Формула Пример
Утверждение subject + V2 / verb-ed We caught the wrong bus.
Отрицание subject + did not + V1 We didn’t catch the first train.
Вопрос Did + subject + V1? Did you try the spicy food?
Вопросительное слово Where/Why + did + subject + V1? Where did they get a new passport?
Обрати внимание: после did и didn’t глагол всегда используется в начальной форме.

✅ Did you go?
❌ Did you went?

✅ She didn’t take her passport.
❌ She didn’t took her passport.

Когда используется Past Simple?

  • Одно завершённое действие: We reached the village at six.
  • Несколько последовательных действий: She grabbed her bag, ran into the bushes and called for help.
  • Действие в определённый момент в прошлом: Last summer, we went on a kayaking trip.
Слова-подсказки: yesterday, last week, last year, two days ago, in 2025, then, suddenly, finally.

Exercise 1. Past Simple

Раскрой скобки и напиши глаголы в Past Simple. Обращай внимание на неправильные глаголы, вопросы и отрицания. Можно использовать краткие формы: didn’t.

2. Past Continuous

Past Continuous используется, когда действие находилось в процессе в определённый момент в прошлом.

Утверждение subject + was/were + verb-ing The wind was blowing strongly.
Отрицание subject + was not / were not + verb-ing We weren’t paying attention.
Вопрос Was/Were + subject + verb-ing? Were mosquitoes buzzing around you?
Вопросительное слово What + was/were + subject + verb-ing? What were they doing?
Was: I, he, she, it.
Were: you, we, they.

Past Simple или Past Continuous?

Что произошло? Что происходило?
Короткое событие часто прерывает другое действие:
The boat hit a rock. 		Длительное действие создаёт фон:
We were travelling down the river.
Действие в процессе ставим в Past Continuous, а событие, которое произошло во время него, — в Past Simple.

We were travelling down the river when the boat hit a rock.

While Leo was taking photos, somebody stole his backpack.
Слово Как обычно используется Пример
when — когда Часто перед коротким событием в Past Simple We were eating when the goat grabbed the sack.
while — пока Часто перед действием в Past Continuous While we were eating, the goat grabbed the sack.
  • Два параллельных действия: While the guide was talking, the tourists were taking photos.
  • Последовательность завершённых действий: We caught the bus, arrived at the village and made friends with the locals.

Exercise 2. The Wrong Bus

Раскрой скобки. Используй Past Simple или Past Continuous.

Last year, Leo and his cousin Max went on an adventure in Thailand. They at a small hostel in the city. (stay)

One morning, while they breakfast, they to visit a village outside the city. (have / decide)

They the first bus that stopped near the hostel. Unfortunately, Max when the driver explained where the bus was going. (catch / not listen)

3. Used to

Used to используется для привычек и состояний в прошлом, которых сейчас больше нет или которые изменились.

Утверждение subject + used to + V1 We used to travel every summer.
Отрицание subject + didn’t use to + V1 I didn’t use to eat spicy food.
Вопрос Did + subject + use to + V1? Did you use to go on boat trips?
Вопросительное слово Where + did + subject + use to + V1? Where did they use to stay?
В утверждении пишем used to:
She used to travel a lot.

После did и didn’t пишем use to без окончания -d:
Did she use to travel a lot?
She didn’t use to travel alone.

Когда используется used to?

  • Регулярная привычка в прошлом: We used to catch the first train every Saturday.
  • Состояние или ситуация в прошлом: My brother used to be afraid of mosquitoes.
  • То, что раньше было правдой, но сейчас изменилось: I didn’t use to share my experiences, but now I have a travel blog.
Used to подчёркивает старую привычку или изменившуюся ситуацию:
We used to go on a boat trip every summer.

Past Simple сообщает об одном завершённом событии:
We went on a boat trip last Saturday.

Exercise 3. Used to

Раскрой скобки. Используй правильную утвердительную, отрицательную или вопросительную форму used to.
